Many Primary Immunodeficient (PI) patients exhibit insufficient venous access or adverse reactions to intravenous treatments thereby making them unsuitable candidates for traditional IVIg therapy. For these patients, Subcutaneous Infusion of Immune Globulin (SCIg Thearpy) offers a viable alternative because of its ability to administer controlled dosages of immune globulin (or immunoglobulin if you prefer) over a period of several hours through a small needle placed immediately beneath the skin.
EMED® SCIg infusion sets (also known as Sub-Q Ig infusion sets) have been engineered to optimize the subcutaneous infusion of immune globulin. They were developed with the assistance and valuable input of clinical infusion specialists resulting in a superior alternative.
